I have been a consultant Upper GI Surgeon at Southampton University Hospitals NHS trust since 2003, and a founding member of the bariatric surgical service in Southampton, based at the SPIRE Hospital Southampton.
I trained in the North West of England and spent a year as senior surgical Fellow at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in Brisbane Australia where I gained experience of advanced laparoscopic surgery and was first introduced to bariatric surgery. As a bariatric surgeon I have experience of gastric banding, gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and revisional procedures.
I am passionate about providing an excellent service to my patients. I am also strongly committed to bariatric surgical research, and participate in an active research programme both within Southampton and through links with other research units in the UK.
