POSE, or Primary Obesity Surgery Endoscopy is an exciting new technology/technique that has been developed in the United States. We are particularly excited about the potential for POSE to help patients in the UK who have a problem with their weight, for whom the more radical approaches of gastric banding, bypass or sleeve gastrectomy are not an appropriate choice.
POSE is an endoscopic procedure that involves placing sutures in the upper part of the stomach at endoscopy. These sutures have the effect of reducing the capacity of the stomach so that you will feel less hungry after the procedure and will feel full after eating a smaller amount of food, and will hence be helped in your aim of losing weight.
